Brian Crum to run for Independent Ireland in Kinnegad LEA

Former county councillor, Brian Crum, has announced he is to run as a candidate for in the forthcoming local elections.

Mr Crum is to run for the Independent Ireland party in the Kinnegad Local Electoral Area (LEA).

Formerly a member of Fianna Fáil, Mr Crum was co-opted to Westmeath County Council in 2017 to replace Cllr Avril Whitney, and he served until 2019. He has a record of involvement in voluntary work and community affairs.

Aged 42, Brian is husband of Wendy, and father to three children, Megan, James, and Andrew.

Self-employed and specialising in groundworks, plant, and agricultural hire, Brian says he has a deep understanding of the needs and challenges facing local businesses and residents in the Kinnegad area.

“Having been actively involved in voluntary work and community initiatives for many years, I am passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of people in our area," says Brian.

"I believe in a common-sense approach to local governance, where the voices of residents are heard and their concerns addressed."

Brian’s dedication to community service is evident in his extensive volunteer work, including organising tractor and lorry runs to raise funds for charities such as the Irish Cancer Society, the Jack and Jill Foundation, Mullingar Hospital Children’s Section, and other local organisations.

Additionally, Brian serves on the board of management of Castlepollard Community College, demonstrating his commitment to supporting education and youth development in the region.
