Mullingar group to appear on new RTÉ TV show on Saturday

Mulligar based band Cronin will appear on the next episode of a new TV series on RTÉ1 this Saturday evening.

In the series, Songs of Ireland, entertainer and musician Pat Shortt and his old friend, Stockton’s Wing frontman Mike Hanrahan, go on a musical tour of Ireland to find the history behind some of our greatest songs.

On the next episode of the show, which airs this Saturday evening, May 3, at 8.25pm, Cronin bring their own take to the Pat Cooksey penned Fury's classic, 'The reason I left Mullingar'.

The filming took place last summer in Dolan's bar with Johnny and Mick Cronin joined by Andy Nolan (Biblecode Sundays, Shane MacGowan), Justin Ryan ( The Blizzards) along with Pat and Mike.

Cronin have also recorded a version that is out today on all streaming services through Live Transmission Records.
