Local Lidl employee wins national award

A Mullingar-based Lidl employee has been recognised at a national awards ceremony for positively contributing to communities across Ireland.

Paudie Byrne (right; pic by Paul Sherwood) won the Community Hero Award, one of 27 awards given out at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland”s annual Employee Achievement Awards held in the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on Tuesday April 23.

The Community Hero award recognises outstanding colleagues who do incredible work for Lidl’s charity partner, make Lidl’s food donation programme so successful and whose actions, integrity and team spirit all contribute to making a better tomorrow.

On the night of the event, Paudie, sales operation manager for Lidl Ireland, was recognised for engaging with and motivating Lidl store teams across different districts, to deliver amazing fundraising results. His drive, passion, positive personality and impressive ability to inspire and co-ordinate store teams to work together for one cause is recognised by everyone around him.

Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland”s annual Employee Achievement Awards ceremony is a national awards event acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of Lidl team members in its stores, distribution centres and offices across the island of Ireland.
