The Festival of the Fires is Ireland’s oldest festival, a celebration of Irish culture, art, heritage, music, ceremony and sport which has been held at the historic Hill of Uisneach for 1,400 years.

Experience the magic: Bealtaine Fire Festival 2024 ignites Hill of Uisneach

The Bealtaine Fire Festival on the Hill of Uisneach takes place this year on May 11.

People from all over the world come together to celebrate one of Ireland’s oldest traditions, with music, food, mindfulness, yoga, crafting demonstrations, stall, heritage talks and walks, games and the amazing fire performers.

They watch the flames dance high as the sun sets on the Hill of Uisneach, the spiritual and mythological centre of Ireland, one of the world’s most sacred spaces, while welcoming the return of summer.

The lighting of the Bealtaine Fire on the Hill of Uisneach, where once the High Kings of Ireland held their ceremonies, is a unique experience and a limited number of tickets are still available; see www.uisneach.ie. The event starts at 4.30pm.
