A team for the Order of Malta, Mullingar Unit took a third place prize in the National Rescue Organisation Ireland CPR Challenge Competition held at the Mullingar Fire Station on Saturday.

They competed against 40 groups from all over Ireland, Belgium and Luxembourg consisting of firefighters, advanced paramedics, CPR groups, HSE, and Civil Defence.

They had put in additional training together to perfect their skills and their hard work paid off.

They have been members of Order of Malta, Mullingar for more than eight years and, having started with little medical knowledge, are now EMT and EFR levels.

Their passion for their field is clearly evident as they continue to volunteer for the local, regional and national communities.
