Niall Horan ranked as Ireland’s third most attractive celebrity

Mullingar superstar Niall Horan has been ranked as Ireland’s third most attractive male celebrity, according to a new study.

Conducted by the betting site Tonybet, the former One Direction star was only bested in the looks department by fellow singer Hozier in second place and Normal People star Paul Mescal, who claimed the top spot.

Completing the top five were actors Aidan Turner, of The Hobbit fame, and Domhnall Gleeson, known for his roles in the Harry Potter franchise, Ex Machina, and more.

Surprisingly, Andrew Scott, Barry Keoghan, and Cillian Murphy all missed out on a top ten place.

The study used five images each of 50 Irish celebrities and put them through an online test, which in turn ranked them on a scale of one to ten.

It found that the least attractive Irish male celebrity was Brendan O’Carroll of Mrs Brown’s Boys fame, who scored an average of 4.82 out of ten. Bono was ranked as the second least attractive with a score of 4.99, followed by Brendan Gleeson (5.11).

Speaking on the findings, a spokesperson for Tonybet said:

“Attractive celebrities often enjoy greater popularity and influence, impacting trends in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle,” they said.

“Identifying the most and least attractive Irish celebrities sheds light on current trends and societal preferences.

“Exploring attractiveness can reveal underlying psychological and social dynamics, such as biases, stereotypes, and the impact of media representation on self-esteem and body image.

“It can also highlight how attractiveness affects career opportunities and public perception.”
