Westmeath Rose to be guest at Pink Ribbon Appeal coffee morning
Cancer Society Pink Ribbon Appeal; coffee morning at Cullion Hurling Club
October is the Irish Cancer Society month for breast cancer awareness. Each year in Ireland almost 3,400 women and around 30 men are diagnosed with breast cancer.
It is more common in those over 50 years of age, but it can affect younger women and men.
In 2023 funds raised nationally provided more than 5,400 supportive and comforting 1-1 conversations with the Irish Cancer Society Freephone Support line; staffed 13 Daffodil Centres in hospitals with cancer nurses and trained volunteers who can provide free confidential advice and information; offered more than 4,600 trips to and from chemotherapy and radiotherapy appointments for 485 people through the Cancer Society’s free volunteer-led driving service.
Your support matters. You have the power to change the lives of those affected by a breast cancer diagnosis by supporting the Mullingar Committee’s Coffee Morning in Cullion Hurling GAA Club on Friday, October 11, 10.30am-1.30pm.
Grace O’Connor, Westmeath Rose, will attend from 12.30pm.
There will be a raffle on the day.
