There was a great night of celebration at the Castlepollard Camogie Club Dinner Dance in Castle Vara Hotel, Castlepollard on Saturday.

Special guest for the occasion was none other than Pamela Greville, a legendary Westmeath and Raharney camogie star. Pamela is the perfect role model for an athlete young and old. She has dedicated so many years to camogie and achieved so much such as two Soaring Star Awards, two All-Ireland medals both junior and intermediate. She is the only camogie player to win a game in Junior B, Junior A, Intermediate and Senior against the mighty Limerick. She has collected eight Senior Championship medals, one Junior Leinster Club and one All-Ireland club medal. She is a leader both on and off the pitch.

MC for the event was Amanda Byrne and she ensured the evening ran smoothly from start to finish.

Amanda, an All Star back in the day, is no stranger to Castlepollard camogie. She proudly wore the blue and gold and now supports the club in any way possible. Amanda was kind enough to volunteer as MC. No stranger to the stage, Amanda participated in the club's Lip Sync battle and was the MC for the recent Blind Date Event held in Castlepollard.

The Westmeath Junior Camogie champions were honoured on the evening and a memorable year for the Castlepollard Camogie Club was celebrated as the minor side, amalgamated with Crookedwood, won the ‘A’ championship.

The junior management team of Darren McCormack, Martin Egan senior, Jody Murray, Eileen Loftus, Ian O’Neill and Colin McCormack were thanked for the hard work, time and commitment.

Castlepollard qualified for the Leinster Junior Camogie Championship quarter-final, which was held in Castlepollard, and despite a gutsy performance by 'Pollard girls, their camogie season came to an end after a one point loss to Meath's Navan O'Mahoney's. They are now looking forward to 2025; a busy year of senior league and championship lies ahead.
