Huge variety of fundraising efforts planned for Joristown Park development

Raharney Hurling and Raharney Camogie Club are holding a 24-hour Walkathon as part of the fundraising efforts for the development of Joristown Park.

It takes place on Friday April 4 and Saturday April 5, from 5pm to 5pm.

There are 24 teams who will organise individual fundraising events, and all teams have sponsorship cards and ifundme pages.

Among the other fundraising campaigns are a plastic bottles return scheme, a 50/50 draw and a scrap metal collection (looking for old cars, vans, other metal; contact Martin on 087 7745827).

Team: Aoife and Amelia: Saturday March 15 - Sports Nursery, Hurling and Camogie Nursery Camp, 10.30-11.45am in Joristown Park for 3-7-year-olds. €10 per child/ €18 for two. All children and all clubs welcome. To book text Aoife on 087-6546358.

Team: The Young Offenders: Saturday March 15 - Mega Car Wash and Valet.

Team: Lizzies Ladies: Sunday 16 March - Cake sale in The Third Place following 10am Mass.

Team: Local Businesses: Sunday March 16 - Rock/Paper/Scissors in McHugh’s Bar and Lounge from 8pm. €10 entry fee. Winner €125 runner up €75. All welcome. Contact Loughlin or Aaron.

Team: Kathryn and the Pacemakers: Thursday March 20 - Paint your own plate night.

Team: The Raharney Rats and Aoife and Amelia: Friday March 21 - Table Quiz at 8pm in The Third Place. Teams of 4 €40, spot prizes on the night.

Team: Patsy’s Clan and Fans: Saturday March 22 - Community Car Treasure Hunt family event for all ages. €20 per car starting at 2.30pm in Joristown Pitch. Prizes for 1st, 2nd 3rd. This is a family community event open to all. Local knowledge not required. Each team must have a car. Register in advance by texting Ciara on 087-2828802 or register on the day.

Team: The Glorious Tenners: Saturday March 22 - Fundraising night in McHugh’s.

Team: The Rhinos: Sunday March 23 - Road Hurling Tournament. U10/U12 competition starting at 10am. Main competition 12pm. Registration 11.30am no entries after this time. Team of 3 €10 per person. Team: The Glorious Tenners: Saturday March 29 - Stars of the Future training camp, 10am-2pm for boys and girls aged 7-12. €20 per child or €30 for two. Come along and meet some of our senior players.

Team: Deelside Puckers: Sunday March 30: Sponsored cycle at the Plaza.

Team: Patsy Clan and Fans: Sunday March 30 - Tractor, car and motorbike run: starting at Shay Murtagh’s via Raharney, Killucan, Derrymore, Hill of Down and finishing in Raharney.
