Mullingar Show take top prize

Delvin St Patrick’s Day Festival Prizegiving

The Delvin St Patrick’s Day Festival committee members can rest for a while now, as the hard work they put in to preparing for the day itself paid off, and they held a successful night for the prizegiving at the weekend.

Cllr David Jones, chairperson, expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, volunteers and participants. "There was a great buzz in the town in the lead-up to the parade and all ran smoothly.

"The anonymous judges picked the 13 winners from various categories, which were presented in Gaffney’s Bar and lounge on Saturday night.

"I personally want to thank all that made Delvin parade happen and all of our hard working committee. Everyone got a job and did it."

He added thanks to Mary Gaffney for hosting a great night for the prizegiving. "Well done to all of the winners and thank you all for your support."
