The 2025 Mullingar Intermediate Snooker Championship Final was held in St Mary’s Snooker Club rooms on Bishopsgate St, Mullingar on the last Sunday for the Mullingar Snooker Intermediate Championship Cup.

The referee was Gary Walsh and Ger O’Connor acted as scorekeeper.

The final was the best of five frames between the No 1 seed Stephen von Beaumont, who was also the defending champion, and Keith Mulligan the 2017 champion.

The first frame of the final was an edgy affair and both players had their opportunities to take it, but the defending champion Steven was able to take the last three colours to secure a one frame lead. Frame two came down to Keith needing the last three balls and a mistake by Steven left Keith with a tricky blue tight in the left black pocket. But a misjudgement saw Keith miss the blue and Steven took blue and pink for frame two. That was arguably the crucial moment in this decider.

The final frame saw Steven in command and he scored when the opportunity arose, but the match was more or less over with green to black left on the table. Steven put in the hard work and was duly crowned champion again for a third time.
