Westmeath Garda on beauty spot patrol

The good weather has seen member of Westmeath Garda respond to public concerns about anti-social behaviour at some local beauty spots.

Community Gardai, Gda Martin and Gda Walsh from Mullingar Garda Station, along with Community Warden Murphy were on patrol at Tudenham, one of the counties most picturesque walks, this week.

In past years Tudenham, the popular lakeside amenities in the Mullingar area, has been the scene of anti social behaviour, including the unauthorised gatherings of cars.

Westmeath County Councillor members recently raised the issue of anti-social behaviour at Tudenham and other social amenity areas.

Elected representative voiced concerns about illegal fires and the emptying portaloos into the lake last July.

The fine weather has seen members of the public calls for monitoring of the area to prevent this type of anti-social behaviour and Westmeath Gardaí have responded to the calls. The patrols were highlighted on the Westemeath Garda Facebook page.
