Call for bus stops to be installed at The Downs

A call to have bus stops erected at The Downs was made by Cllr Andrew Duncan at the April meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.

He asked that the district liaise with the National Transport Authority and request installation of stops.

“The Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad has advised that they have written to the National Transport Authority and issued a reminder. A response will issue as soon as possible,” Cllr Duncan was assured.

Raithín

A request that speed ramps be installed at Raithín was made by Cllr Duncan at the same meeting. To this the response was that officials would examine it to see what traffic calming works were required and would consider possible works as part of the 2026 estimates. Mayor Ken Glynn and Cllr Emily Wallace backed Cllr Duncan’s call.

Hillside Drive

Cllr Duncan also proposed that the district prune the trees in Hillside drive, and received an undertaking that the work would be done during the tree/hedge cutting season, which is from September to the end of February.
