Application for wind monitor mast at Coolnagun Bog

An application for permission to erect a wind monitoring mast at Coolnagun Bog is with a view to assessing the suitability of the surrounding area for wind farm development.

Coolnagun Bog Wind Farm DAC, has lodged an application with Westmeath County Council seeking planning permission for the erection of a guyed wind monitoring mast, with instruments.

The structure is to be 120 metres in height, and is the application is to have it in place for six years.

Sports plans

The Kilbeggan Races Committee has plans for development works at the race track at Loughnagore, Kilbeggan. The committee has submitted an application for planning permission to Westmeath County Council for the demolition and removal of two existing medical and canteen buildings, and to construct a new canteen and medical building in their place.

The application was submitted to the council on April 10, and a decision is due by June 4.

Milltown GAA have applied to construct a training pitch, an astroturf pitch, a viewing stand, a hurling wall, a 360m walkway to go around the pitches, a number of light posts and a car park. The application was submitted on April 11, and Westmeath County Council will be due to give its decision on the application by June 5.

Residential

An application has been submitted to Westmeath County Council for planning permission for seven new residential units at the rear of a derelict house in the Ballinderry, Ardmore area of Mullingar. The application, submitted by Patrick Mulligan on April 9, is due for decision by June 3.

Mr Mulligan is seeking to demolish a shed and the rear three-storey annex of Millmount House located at Ballinderry Road/ Ardmore Road, Mullingar and for permission to erect seven residential units. Four of the units are to be in the refurbished and extended Millmount House – two one-bed and two two-bed; while the remaining three are to be in the form of a two-storey terrace of three two-bed houses.

Granted permission

Permission has been granted for the use of an existing agricultural track and private road on the Tullynally Castle grounds which accesses the local road L1826, as a temporary construction access route for the construction of a solar farm development previously granted permission. The application was submitted by EEPV15 Ltd.
