Belvedere set to host 'Well Westmeath' health and wellness expo

Belvedere House Gardens & Park will host a Health and Wellness event called ‘Well Westmeath’, on May 24, from 11 am to 4 pm.

The Well Westmeath Expo aims to celebrate all that is healthy and positive about living in Westmeath, and admission is free.

The event is being organised by Healthy Communities and Healthy Westmeath, and both organisations aim to tackle issues that residents face by identifying risk factors and working on initiatives to solve them.

There will be a variety of events and activities on the day, including: an information village, dance performances, live music, guided tours, nature walks, interactive physical activities and fun exercises for all.

The event will also see performances from local musicians and dancers throughout the day, with information on health, fitness, stress management and mental health all being provided.

Brigid Geoghegan, Sláintecare Healthy Communities Westmeath Local Development Officer, said, “This will be a fun, family day out, and we are inviting everyone to join us to enjoy live entertainment, guided tours, nature walks and fun exercise, as well as our extensive information village stands. Well Westmeath also provides everyone who attends access to Belvedere House Gardens & Park.

We couldn't have done this without everyone who contributed to organising this family event, including stand holders, tour guides, Emerald Lakes Academy, Music Generation, sporting organisations, and Westmeath County Council.’’

Sarah McManus, Healthy Ireland Westmeath Coordinator, added, “This will be a lovely event which could not have happened without the support of many agencies and services, especially Westmeath County Council.

We hope this event will help people learn more about their own health and well-being, as well as enjoy the beautiful scenery of the historic Belvedere House Gardens & Park."
