This beloved series is back for its 12th season, celebrating Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes and the people who cherish them. A new presenter, broadcaster, musician, and podcaster Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, explores seven counties alongside special guests. This week we ramble from Abbeyfeale to Rathkeale on the Limerick Greenway, plus a city walk through Limerick’s historic core with Barry Murphy from Hermitage Green.

Big Zuu and AJ Tracey’s Rich Flavours (Sky Max, Tuesday 20th, 9pm)

In a new culinary adventure, Big Zuu is teaming up with his rapper cousin AJ Tracey for a trip around the world. Seeking out unique, bizarre and expensive dining experiences, the pair will be sampling dishes and immersing themselves in the cultures of East Asia, North America and Europe – no delicacies are too strange, no dinner too expensive.

Marie Antoinette (BBC 2, Thursday 22nd, 9pm)

An innocent teenage queen drawn into a dark, manipulative court of Versailles, her duty is to bear an heir. Her fate will set a country on fire. From the writer of The Favourite, Deborah Davis, it continues the extraordinary story of the modern and avant-garde young queen, played by Emilia Schüle, with Louis Cunningham as the king of France.

Mr Mercedes (RTÉ Player)

If you missed this crime drama when it first appeared, it’s well worth your time to see one of Ireland’s greatest actors delivering a powerhouse performance. Brendan Gleeson stars as a retired detective who is plagued and haunted by the perpetrator of a vicious crime where 16 innocent people were massacred. Based on the bestselling series of novels by Stephen King.

WATCH OF THE WEEK

Super Garden Final (RTÉ 1, Tuesday 27th, 7pm)

In episode six, the final episode, all five designers have completed their garden designs and it is now time for the judges to make their decision on who should be crowned the winner of Super Garden series 16. The winning designer is given the chance to showcase their winning garden at Bord Bia Bloom, where 100,000 visitors will have the chance to see the winning design brought to life, joining the ranks of Ireland’s top garden designers.

Twelve-year-old Mildred’s life is turned upside down when her mother lands in hospital and estranged, American magician father, Strawn Wise (Elijah Wood), comes to look after her. Hoping to entertain the bookish tween, he takes Mildred camping in the notoriously rugged New Zealand wilderness, on a quest to find the mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther.

Poison (Sky Cinema Premiere, from Wednesday)

Tim Roth and Trine Dyrholm star in a love story about a couple reunited years after tragedy drove them apart. Their brief but intense meeting will bring simmering pain and resentments to the surface but will be a reminder too of cherished intimacies and the love they once shared.

Judy (BBC 2, Friday 23rd, 11pm)

Thirty years after starring in The Wizard of Oz, beloved actress and singer Judy Garland arrives in London to perform sold-out shows at the Talk of the Town nightclub. While there, she reminisces with friends and fans and begins a whirlwind romance with musician Mickey Deans, her soon-to-be fifth husband. Renee Zellweger is a true Judy.

Booksmart (BBC 1, Friday 23rd, 11.40pm)

Amy and Molly, two academic superstars and best friends, on the eve of their high school graduation, realise that they should have worked less and played more. Determined never to fall short of their peers, the girls set out on a mission to cram four years of fun into one night.

The Wild Robot (Sky Cinema Premiere, from Friday)

This epic adventure follows the journey of a robot – Rozzum unit 7134, ‘Roz’ for short – as it is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. Learning to adapt to the harsh surroundings, Roz gradually builds relationships with the animals on the island and becomes the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

Octopus! (Amazon Prime)

A documentary narrated by ’Fleabag’s’ Phoebe Waller-Bridge transports viewers into the otherworldly depths of one of the most intelligent and mysterious life forms on Earth as it follows the Giant Pacific Octopus from birth to death. The documentary features the scientists trying to save them and the explorer trying to understand them.

Nonnas (Netflix)

After the loss of his mother, a man risks everything to honour her by opening an Italian restaurant with a group of local grandmothers as the chefs. Starring Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon and Lorraine Bracco, it’s based on the true story of Jody Scaravella, who uses the money from his mother’s inheritance to open up Enoteca Maria – where all the employees are grandmothers.

Molly-Mae: Behind It All (Amazon Prime)

Part two of the exclusive access docu-series following social media star Molly-Mae following her highly publicised break-up. Adapting to the challenges of motherhood, while preparing to launch her biggest business venture to date, Maebe, she opens up on her journey to becoming a powerhouse entrepreneur under intense public scrutiny.

Long Way Home (Apple TV)

Best friends Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman travel from Scotland to England, taking a scenic world route on classic old motorbikes. They head across the North Sea to Scandinavia, up to the Arctic Circle, down to the Baltics and through continental Europe, before eventually hopping back over the English Channel two months later. It’s an adventure that will take them to more than 15 countries, along some of the greatest driving roads in the world.

Cheat: Unfinished Business (Netflix)

The dating series, headed up by Amanda Holden and Paul C Brunson, brings together eight former couples, whose relationships have been impacted by cheating. Forced together at a secret retreat, they have to decide if they want to get back together at the end of it.

Formula E: Driver (Amazon Prime)

Four-part series offering unfiltered access into the lives of four of Formula E’s drivers and biggest personalities capturing the emotional rollercoaster of the Formula E World Championship. The series goes behind the visor to follow ‘bad boy’ Dan Ticktum, before culminating in London’s dramatic season finale, where five drivers fiercely compete for the championship crown.
