'Epic' night promised at Choral Society pay tribute to cinema
‘Epic Harmonies’ is the brilliant name Mullingar Choral Society have chosen for their event this Saturday, May 24, at Mullingar Arts Centre.
The subtitle is ‘A Choral Tribute to Cinema’, and it promises a treat for lovers of that art form as well as music.
The evening promises to transport audiences through the silver screen’s most beloved soundtracks, from the charm of Harry Potter to the dramatic scores of Saving Private Ryan and The Godfather.
The programme also includes a selection of pieces from films such as Sister Act, The Mission, Empire of the Sun, Pirates of the Caribbean, Amadeus, Les Choristes, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Adding to the night are special guests, and regular collaborators with Mullingar Choral Society, the St Kenny NS Choir, plus The Epic Harmony Orchestra.
The conductor is John White.
