Potato blight advisory in effect, according to Met Éireann

The Met Éireann Weather Warning Alerting Service has issued a Yellow level warning for potato blight for large parts of the country, including Westmeath.

It states: "A potato blight advisory is in effect. For details please see the Farming commentary at https://www.met.ie/forecasts/farming."

Affected Regions: Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.

The expected onset is noon on Friday May 23 and the advisory expires on Sunday at midnight.
