Fire brigade called to minor incident at hospital
The fire brigade was called to Mullingar hospital on Sunday morning as a precautionary measure, after smoke was seen issuing from a compressor in a sterile services area of the hospital.
The smoke was spotted by a nurse, but there were no flames at any point, and no one was injured.
As soon as the smoke was spotted, patients were removed from wards near the area, but the incident was over within around 90 minutes.
