North Westmeath Hospice prepare for Sunflower Days

The National Sunflower fundraising days are taking place across the country on June 6 and 7 to raise funds for hospice services.

Sunflower Days have been taking place for more than three decades, raising funds to support the teams who deliver end of life care to all terminally ill patients in the north Westmeath area.

The care is delivered in the comfort of the patient’s own home or in a dedicated hospice bed.

This year, North Westmeath hospice will have several collection locations around Mullingar and in the wider area, selling merchandise to raise funds for local services.

Margaret Claffey, chairperson of North Westmeath Hospice fundraising committee, would like to thank everyone for coming out to support them. She also thanked f the volunteers for their support and she assured everyone that all money raised stays local with local hospice services.

“We would like to thank KC Sports for their generous donation of hi-vis vests to the fundraising team, which we will be wearing on our street collection days,” said Margaret.

Chris Taaffe of KC Sports said: "We are delighted to be involved with the organisation and to do the sponsorship with them."
