Shoot 'N' Stars host their end of year celebrations
Shoot ‘N’ Stars Special Olympics Club held their end-of-year celebrations in the Annebrooke House Hotel in Mullingar, on Tuesday, May 27.
Around 50 people were in attendance to watch the team collect their awards and trophies for participation, after a barbecue and a dancing session.
Shoot ‘N’ Stars members compete in basketball, swimming, bocce, soccer and floorball.
The club are celebrating nearly 30 years in Mullingar, and have more than 90 members, 60 of whom are athletes.
Bob Keating, club organiser, said: “Many of these athletes joined Shoot ‘N’ Stars from eight years old.
“Our club started with the aim of offering top-quality training and participation in several sports.
“As a team, we now offer training and participation in these sports at local, regional and national levels, and several of our athletes have competed at the World Games level.
“Today, we want to celebrate the effort that each person involved in the club puts in, including coaches, athletes and volunteers.”
