Anniversary Jerseys: Feerick's Hotel giving a bit back
‘For our 25 years we thought, how would we like to mark this?” Paul Feerick says of the novel fundraiser the business has tied in with its quarter of a century milestone.
Combining the family love of sport with a well respected charity the Feerick’s came up with their Anniversary Jerseys. The money raised will go to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.
The foundation supports, provides and develops specialist palliative care services, free of charge, to patients and families living with life-limiting illnesses in counties Mayo and Roscommon. Palliative care services are available to patients in their homes, in the hospices in the two counties, and in hospitals.
“We’re excited to celebrate Feerick’s Hotel’s 25 Years of excellence. To mark this special occasion, we have created an exclusive commemorative jersey,” Paul said.
Situated on the busy N4 in Rathowen, Feerick’s Hotel is a popular stop off point thanks to its reputation for quality food at a reasonable price. That popularity inspired the choice of the charity for the anniversary jersey.
“We very often see people call in on their way, or coming back, for treatment in Dublin,” Paul says. “These can be people who are undergoing weekly treatment. Naturally we build up a rapport with them. When we thought about the jersey idea, the hospice seemed an obvious choice as a worthy charity.
“Our links with Mayo, John being a good Ballinrobe man, and the support of the passing trade from the Mayo fans who call in on their way to and from Dublin, all fed into the decision. We’re hoping to raise €10,000, we have a good few sold, and they are available to buy on the website.”
