Grey skies look to be the order of the day

Today's weather

Dry for most this morning but rain expected later

The glory days of last week seem a long time ago as the weather has taken a turn for the worst.

It will be dry for most this morning, but rain in western areas will spread eastwards through the morning.

The rain will clear to sunny spells and scattered showers later in the afternoon, with some heavy showers possible before they ease in the evening.

Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

Meanwhile, it will become cloudier again tonight with outbreaks of rain spreading from the west, turning heavy at times early on.

The rain will clear to the east by morning.

Lowest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with westerly winds easing moderate.
