Westmeath schools to receive €1.45m funding
Westmeath schools are to benefit from €1.45 million in funding for building works, and investment in ICT infrastructure.
This is part of a €65 million investment in schools across the country, aimed at making sure students are learning the digital skills that they need in the modern world.
The funding for Westmeath schools includes €700,000 in works for primary and special schools, and €757,000 for ICT infrastructure across all schools.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke said: “This is a major investment in Westmeath’s schools and students. Whether it’s upgrading classrooms, improving outdoor spaces, or supporting digital learning, this funding will make a real difference in day-to-day school life.
“Every school community is different, and this funding gives them the flexibility to prioritise what’s most important locally - whether that’s repairs, safety improvements or new technology.
“The government are backing schools in both rural and urban areas across Westmeath to ensure they remain modern, welcoming and well-equipped places for students and staff.
“This funding will help schools carry out essential improvements while also supporting students to develop key digital skills for the future.”
