Mullingar Fire and Rescue Service visit Muiríosa Foundation
It was all smiles at the Muiríosa Foundation’s Cill Cuan base on Harbour Street on Friday, June 6, as Mullingar Fire and Rescue Service treated individuals to a display of one of their Fire Engines.
A large crowd gathered in the car park, awaiting the arrival of the fire truck, as people took a break from their schedules.
The firefighters displayed their equipment and ladders while allowing some individuals to climb into the cab and sound the alarm.
Lisa Barr, a staff member with the Muiríosa Foundation, said: “We had been planning this outing for a few weeks, our members were so excited about, it and looked forward to it so much.
“It’s so important for us to brighten up the day for them, I personally love working here and we as staff just want to see everyone happy, today definitely did that for us.
“Muiríosa does great work, and making people happy is our main goal.
Lisa went on to express her thanks to everyone involved in making the day run as smoothly as possible: “I would just like to thank all of our members and the Muiríosa Foundation for making today, and so many other days so exciting and memorable for everyone.
“A special thanks has to go out to Mullingar Fire and Rescue Service, who took time out of their busy schedule to be here with us today, and I hope that we can continue to do things like this in the future.”
