Ali Murphy received the beauty therapy student of the year award from Tom Hunt.At the PLC Graduation awards ceremony for Millmount PLC Campus, based in Mullingar Community College, Elaine O’Reilly, assistant principal, gave a warm welcome to graduates and their families as they gathered to celebrate their Further Education PLC graduation.
Elaine reminded everyone that Millmount graduates really are everywhere making a big impact in the communities where they live and work.
“If you’re out and about in Mullingar, chances are you’ve met one of our past students. They’re the friendly faces behind local beauty clinics, the ones keeping the council running smoothly, those caring for our little ones in childcare, and so much more. And this year, we’re delighted to add future teachers to that growing list.”
The awards on the night were presented by Aoife Davitt, chairperson of the Longford Westmeath ETB Board of Management, and went to graduates from the following programmes: Business Studies with Social Media Marketing; Pre-Accounting Technicians; Social Studies with Psychology; Community Health Services; Early Learning and Care (Childcare); Pre-University Primary and Post-Primary Education; Beauty Therapy with Nail Technology.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Student of the Year awards, not just for academic excellence, but for the spirit and energy students brought to college life. These awards celebrated students who got stuck in, supported their classmates, and made the most of every opportunity.
Dr Tom Hunt, from the Board of Management at Mullingar Community College, had the honour of presenting the awards to: Kamila Pijanowska – Business; Sean Nulty – Social Studies; Kourtney Reilly – Early Learning and Care; Emma McEntee – Pre-University Teaching; Ali Murphy – Beauty Therapy.
