Witness appeal – criminal damage by fire, Mullingar

Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire at a house in Mullingar, today, Thursday 12 June.

Gardaí received a report of a fire at a residential property in Newtown Lawns at approximately 12.50am.

Four people were in the house at the time and were taken to Mullingar hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The scene was preserved and a technical examination was carried out.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the incident to contact them.

Any person, including road users and pedestrians, who was in the Newtown Lawns and surrounding area of Mullingar between 12.15am and 1.15am on 12 June and who observed any unusual activity, is asked to contact investigating gardaí.

Road users or pedestrians who were travelling in the area during that time and who have camera footage (including dash cam) are asked to make it available to gardaí.

Gardaí are also appealing for information on any person with unexplained burns or who has presented for medical advice or treatment for burns since the early hours of Thursday 12 June.
