After the long spell of good weather, those attending Cemetery Sunday in Ballymore were disappointed to find themselves having to have their umbrellas in hand as they gathered for the annual event on May 24. Happily, however, the rain lifted and parish priest Fr Oliver Devine was able to continue as planned to hold the ceremony out of doors. The ceremony was a concelebrated event, with the chief celebrant being His Grace, Dr Dermot Farrell, Archbishop of Dublin, and the other celebrant being the Dublin-based Carmelite priest Fr Michael Kelly, who is originally from Moyvoughley.
