Trim Haymaking Festival cancelled due to poor ground conditions after heavy rainfall

The Trim Haymaking Festival due to be held in the Porchfields in Trim today (Sunday 15th June) has been called off due to poor weather conditions leaving the ground very soft.

In a statement this morning, organisers said that "due to the current ground conditions and in the interest of everyone’s health and safety, we have made the difficult decision to call off the Trim Haymaking Festival for today, Sunday, June 15th.

"We know how much everyone looks forward to this event, but safety must come first. Thank you for your understanding and support.

"We will be in contact with everyone we need to contact."

Trim Haymaking Festival, presented by Scurlogstown Olympiad this year to mark a major milestone: 25 years of celebrating traditional haymaking, rural heritage, and community spirit.
