WATCH: Stunning timelapse of the new LDR4 bridge being lowered into place over the River Blackwater
As the new LDR4 road linking the Navan-Kells Road to north Navan moves towards completion, Meath County Council has released a stunning time-lapse video showcasing the construction updates and the lowering of the massive concrete bridge into place.
This important project will connect the N51/R147 Kells Road to Ratholdren Road, covering about 1.2km in the west of Navan.
The new LDR4 link road is expected to be hugely beneficial in easing congestion both on the Kells Road and the Ratholdren Road although there has been a lot of criticism at the decision to remove the roundabout and a replace it with a four-way signalled junction, with many motorists fearing it will cause major delays in the area.
Works began on the new road and bridge during the summer of 2024 and are expected to be completed by September of this year.
