Westmeath ladies aiming for semi-final spot
Preview: Cavan v Westmeath, Kingspan Breffni Park, Sunday, 2pm
Westmeath are facing a crucial test away to Cavan on Sunday in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter-final.
Frank Browne's charges will be eager to find their best for, which would give them every chance in a very competitive encounter.
Cavan lost out to Monaghan in the group stages but still ended up topping the group, as Monaghan were stunned by Wicklow by 1-11 to 1-10.
The reward for Cavan for their big 1-20 to 0-4 victory over Wicklow is a home quarter-final against Westmeath, who are smarting from a heavy loss to Tyrone last time out when they went down by 6-11 to 0-7.
The Lake County will certainly need to improve on that display but Cavan know that they can get better too – and this could be a really good game.
Tyrone or Fermanagh await the winners of this one in the semi-finals.
