Summer fun at the annual Delvin charity run

The Delvin Tractor Run enjoyed another successful year as the organisers hailed the participants for their support for the charity event.

The run has raised funds for a number of charities over the years including the Irish Cancer Society and CROSS, the charity which supports cancer research at St James’s Hospital and Trinity College, Dublin.

Vintage vehicles of all shapes, ages, and sizes took part in the leisurely 30km run through scenic Westmeath. Refreshments were available along the way and the day ended with a BBQ, raffle and auction.

Despite showers of rain, the annual Delvin charity tractor and vintage car run drew a fantastic turnout, with 100 tractors and 20 vintage cars taking part. The event received great support from the local community in Delvin.

The annual gathering, which started in 2013, took off from Delvin Mart and went through Collinstown, and from there, to Glenidan.

One of the organisers, Cllr David Jones, said the money is raised to support local causes: “The 2025 Delvin tractor run was an amazing success; plans are already underway for next year's event.

"A huge amount of credit goes to the committee and all the volunteers who made the event possible, and a massive thank you to all our sponsors.”
