Council gives green light for Kilbeggan housing development

Westmeath County Council has granted planning permission for a new housing development in Kilbeggan, paving the way for the construction of 13 new homes on a site off the Tullamore Road.

The planning application lodged by the Lambe Bros. has been given the green light to develop a mix of semi-detached houses and townhouses on a 0.50-hectare site located adjacent to the existing residential estate of The Gallops.

According to plans submitted, the development will consist of four three-bedroom semi-detached homes and nine three-bedroom townhouses. The proposal also includes the creation of public open space areas and the installation of associated car parking, which will feature designated visitor spaces. The primary vehicular and pedestrian access to the site will be through The Gallops estate, integrating the new homes with the established residential community.

In addition to the housing units, the development will incorporate a full suite of landscaping works. These include hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, new footpaths, and a range of other ancillary works both above and below ground to support the long-term functionality of the new builds.

The development is among the numerous ongoing efforts to meet housing demand in Kilbeggan, a town that continues to grow due to its proximity to Mullingar, Tullamore, and the M6 motorway.
