Force is with Delvin producer
Delvin student Jayde G Forde has already been offered jobs with RTÉ since her horror sci-fi movie Limerance was nominated for one of Europe’s top horror film festivals – the Fright Nights, Horror Film Festival in Linz, Austria.
Jayde G who is a regular contributor of articles, photographs and videos to the Westmeath Examiner, co-produced the film and worked as camera operator and director of photograph, as well as recruitment officer and make-up artist on the movie.
She was part of a group of second year Higher National Diploma students who produced the film as part of the Dunboyne College of Further Education’s Film and Media module. She and her fellow students graduated in May.
Production of Limerance started in October and ended in December. “It took weeks of preparation, and over 100 shots were filmed across multiple locations,” Jayde G told the Westmeath Examiner. She is excited at the movie having been nominated for the Austrian festival and is hopeful that it may be nominated for other festivals in Ireland and the UK.
Jayde G was educated at Crowenstown NS and Athboy Secondary School before going on to study Film and Media at Dunboyne College of Further Education. She and her fellow students produced several films during their two-year course. They used college filming equipment and either acted in the films themselves, or invited professional actors in who worked free of charge to help the students, she said.
Limerance was written and directed by Mark Conlon, who also composed the music for the movie and edited it, alongside Ronan Power. It was produced by Jayde and Conor Yardley. Jayde worked with Aoife Clegg as camera operator and director of photography.
Other members of the crew included sound operator Oisin Boothman, boom Aaron Larkin, and clapper Pawel Krawczyk. Props and production design where handled by Jinx Ward, and one of the main props was created by a 3D printer, Jayde said. Actors included Max Carey, Holly Lynch and Dean McDevitt.
“The cast and crew were dedicated, starting at early hours, sometimes working from 6am till late on shooting days,” Jayde G said.
Limerance is a horror sci-fi thriller about how someone will do anything to get back at a person they love.
