236 new homes were built in Westmeath in last three months

More than 9,500 homes were built across Ireland in April, May and June of this year, including 236 in Westmeath.

The figures from the Central Statistics Office and are broken down by Local Electoral Area.

Most new dwellings in Westmeath were built in Mullingar, at 124.

In Athlone, 78 new homes were built, 70 of those on the Westmeath side and eight on the Roscommon side.

In Moate, 25 new homes were built and 17 were built in Kinnegad.

Nationally, the figures show an increase of 31% from Q2 in 2024 - 9,666 new homes compared to 7,369.
