North Westmeath Hospice team pay tribute to Detty

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we at North Westmeath Hospice mourn the passing of Detty, a beloved friend, devoted volunteer, a selfless and compassionate lady.

Detty was one of the founding members of our fundraising committee in 2006. She was chairperson of our group for a number of years. She was so much more than a volunteer; she was the heartbeat of countless fundraising initiatives. She was always on hand to give help, support and advise.

Throughout her years, Detty gave endless hours to a wide range of fundraising events. She held several coffee mornings in her own home, which raised vital funds for palliative home care services in the community.

She was presented with a Hospice award in 2018 for her dedication, which was a proud moment for her. She possessed a rare and beautiful humble spirit.
