Traffic and pedestrian lights near Dominick Square are back working

Traffic lights on Dominick Square back working

The pedestrian crossing lights at Dominick Square in Mullingar, that had previously not been working, have been fixed.

The lights were working for traffic, they were not changing when pedestrians pressed the button, leaving many people waiting.

This had become a dangerous situation as Cllr Bill Collentine claimed that some motorists had already been driving straight through the roundabout.

Following a query by the Westmeath Examiner on July 24 2025, Westmeath County Council advised that the situation was being investigated by their team.

The lights are back working for traffic and pedestrians, resulting in safe crossing of the road for pedestrians.
