HER Outdoors Week: 'chance to embrace fresh air and fitness'

HER Outdoors Week, August 11-17, is a chance to embrace the fresh air and celebrate physical activity under the guidance of experts from Westmeath Sports Partnership.

They have lined up “an incredible array of activities designed to get you active and enjoying the beautiful Westmeath outdoors”.

The aim of HER Outdoors Week is to encourage more females to get out and enjoy the benefits of being in the outdoors, while bringing visibility to the opportunities for females to get involved in outdoor physical activity.

Westmeath Sports Partnership want to provide more opportunities for all females to escape to the outdoors and try something new.

“We are very lucky to live in a county with so many accessible and inclusive amenities and facilities and Her Outdoors Week makes use of many of them across 17 varied events, almost all of which are free to attend,” said Anthony Wheat, coordinator of Westmeath Sports Partnership.

This year’s schedule is packed with something for everyone; whether you’re looking for a relaxing stroll or an invigorating challenge, don’t miss out on these fantastic opportunities.

“We have tailored our schedule this year to be inclusive for people who want to get their heartbeat up, or maybe those who just wish to enjoy the more tranquil parts of County Westmeath at a slower pace.
