Community Consultation for Westmeath Outdoor Recreation Plan
Westmeath County Council is inviting members of the public to take part in two separate consultations to shape the future of outdoor recreation across Westmeath.
The local authority is developing the new Outdoor Recreation Plan to guide the management and development of outdoor recreation, increase participation, and link recreational infrastructure with local communities and businesses.
A key part of this process is engaging with the public to understand their needs and preferences. The dates have now been confirmed for workshops for outdoor clubs and groups as part of the consultation for the Westmeath Outdoor Recreation Plan.
Two workshops will be held – one in Mullingar and one in Athlone. These interactive sessions are designed to capture the views, experiences and ideas of local clubs and groups to help shape a robust, evidence-based and needs-led Outdoor Recreation Plan for the county.
Attendance is free, but booking is essential as access will only be permitted with a valid ticket.
The first is on Thursday, August 14, from 7pm- 9pm in Annebrook House Hotel, Mullingar, Westmeath.

The second is on Tuesday, August 19, 7pm- 9pm in Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone, Westmeath.
