Man arrested for possession of a knife

A man was arrested for the possession of a knife in Mullingar last Thursday August 7, following routine active patrol by Gardaí, in the Patrick Street area of the town.

The man, who is aged in his 50s, was arrested at the scene and is due to appear before the District Court next month.

A statement from the Garda Press Office said: “While on active patrol on Patrick Street, Mullingar, on 7 August 2025, Gardaí encountered an adult male (50s) in possession of a knife.

“He was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged to appear before the District Court next month.”
