Midlands singer to play the Three City Stages at Electric Picnic

Midlands singer-songwriter Emily Doyle is set to grace the Three City Stages at this year’s Electric Picnic in Stradbally, County Laois.

Emily is from Longford and has perfected her sound across the midlands and Dublin. She has just released her new song, ‘By Your Side’.

Emily’s style is modern folk-pop genre, which has been gaining popularity across the country lately.

According to Niall O’Halloran at Sweartaker: “Emily is known for her brutally honest lyrics and catchy melodies, touching on themes of love, friendship and heartache.

“She has been working her way through Dublin’s live music scene for the last few years, playing in the likes of the Grand Social and Whelehans, taking inspiration from artists like Lizzy McAlpine, Gracie Abrams and Noah Kahan.”

Emily was among 500 submissions to the City Stages competition, and along with three others, she was offered the chance to play at Electric Picnic, Ireland’s biggest festival.

Emily said: “It’s hard to explain what an opportunity like this means when you’re still finding your feet as an artist.

“For me, it’s the chance to stand on a stage I’ve always admired, in front of thousands of people and share music that is so personal to me.”

Emily is eagerly awaiting her chance to perform at EP: “To do that alongside artists that I look up to, and with the support of City Stages, makes it even more special. It feels like the start of something bigger, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.”
