As part of Heart Health Month, the Irish Heart Foundation’s mobile health unit is offering free heart and blood pressure checks to the public. The unit will at the County Buildings in Mullingar on Wednesday September 3 from 10am to 3.45pm.
The event, organised by Westmeath County Council’s Healthy Ireland coordinator, is open to everyone. The quick and free check is an opportunity to receive valuable information on your heart health and how to prevent heart disease and stroke.
Sarah McManus, Healthy Ireland coordinator, said|: “We welcome the Irish Heart Foundation’s mobile unit to Mullingar. Taking a few minutes to get a check-up is one of the most important things you can do for your long-term health.
“We encourage everyone to come by and take advantage of this service.”
Cllr Aoife Davitt, cathaoirleach of Westmeath County Council, emphasised the council’s commitment to public health: “Westmeath County Council have a central role to play in promoting and supporting the health and wellbeing of our citizens. It is great to see that the Irish Heart Foundation mobile unit will be in Mullingar during Heart Health month to provide free health checks to the public and provide awareness around the importance of Heart Health.”
No appointment is necessary; drop in to the unit during the scheduled hours.
