Joint Captains’ Charity Day took place on Saturday August 23. The day began with a longest hole competition from the 5th tee to the 11th green, with the lowest score a 7 and the highest a 17. Great fun was had by all. The main competition was a champagne scramble open team of four. Winners were Jonathan Cooney, Gerard Ennis, Martin Dempsey and Martin Byrne 105pts; runners-up were Captain Frank Cotter, Anthony Cotter, John Paul Hearnes and Desmond Toomey 105pts; in third place were Desmond Byrne, Adam Hogan, Alan Mills and Tim Moorhead 105pts.

Tuesday’s juniors saw approximately 140 youngsters take part, with the event enabled by over 30 volunteers.

The club welcomed a famous visitor this week when Tadgh Beirne, Irish international and British and Irish Lions Man of the Series in the 2025 Lions Tour of Australia, played on Sunday morning with Conor Gilsenan (member and former London Irish player), Hon Sec Kieran McGurran and Sam Magee, a college pal of Tadgh and Conor.
