Projekt Noir returns with seven acts and five decades of music
Projekt Noir returns to the Stables this weekend with a night of alternative music, songs from 1966 to 2009, performed by seven different bands and DJs.
“The theme of the night is Equinox, when the sun crosses the celestial equator, and day and night are of approximately equal length, between light and dark,” said the organisers, “like the music on the night, rock and pop and everything in between.
“The songs performed will be bright, inspirational, insightful, high and low.”
The DJs will play tunes from a wide selection of bands and artists who are bursting with intensity, power, spirit, and drive.
“The music on the night will be varied and diverse, full of contrast and difference, deviation and harmony, resistance and conformity, sadness and joy. So if you want to hear something different, pop along to the Stables on Saturday 13 September.”
There is no charge at the door. Expect to hear the following on the night, and more: Big Country, Cream, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Jona Lewie, Lou Reed, Midge Ure, Nick Cave, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, OMD, Ocean Colour Scene, Pixies, Placebo, Primal Scream, Simple Minds, The Blades, The Buzzcocks, The Dandy Warhols, The Doors, The Replacements, The Rolling Stones, The Sisters Of Mercy, The Stranglers, The Strokes, The Stunning, U2, Velvet Underground.
If you are into rock, punk, indie, darkwave and post-punk music, this will be a great night to meet and socialise with like-minded people. You can suggest tunes you would like to hear at a Projekt Noir event – email info@projektnoir.com with comments.
