Leg it for LARCC: 'Thank you for turning out every year'

"It’s a big thank-you from us to all of you for turning out and for doing so every year," said Bernie McHugh of LARCC just before the start of their 5k fundraiser on Sunday.

Bernie said Leg it for LARCC has been running for almost 10 years now and it remains a central plank to the annual fundraising for the organisation.

"It’s a lovely family event where people – runners, walkers, dogs, buggies, the whole lot – turn out on the day to support LARCC. It’s really important for us.

It’s a special one because some of our clients get out the other end of their treatment and are able to do it with family and friends, which is what makes it special for us. They’re our special guests on a day like today.

"The money goes towards keeping the doors open to provide counselling, therapies and nurse support for our cancer patients and their families, and we’re so grateful to everyone who turns out, especially on what looked like a dodgy morning.

It was grand and dry now, so it’s great.

There are great numbers going out the road there to enjoy the lovely village of Multyfarnham on their 5k route.

So it’s a big thank-you from us to all of you for turning out, and for doing so every year."
