Davitt wants Blackhall loading bay to be repositioned

The difficulty a Mullingar business has in accepting deliveries and preparing goods for transport onwards was raised by Cllr Aoife Davitt at the monthly meeting of the Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District.

The Fianna Fáil woman formally requested at the meeting that the loading bay at Blackhall be repositioned from Whelan’s coal yard to Smyth’s Hardware. She said that as it is a store to and from which hardware items are being loaded and unloaded, the business needed a dedicated space on which delivery vehicles could park.

By way of response, the district stated that it is proposed to install two additional loading bays in Dominick Street and Oliver Plunkett Street in the final quarter of this year.
