Inaugural Mullingar Blues and Jazz Festival this weekend

The town will come alive with the soulful sounds of blues and jazz when the first Mullingar Blues and Jazz Festival takes place this weekend, September the 26-28.

The festival is organised by Raimonda Masiulytė-Ramchurn, a professional jazz singer. “I started this festival because I believe Mullingar deserves a place on the map for blues and jazz, and because I wanted to create something the whole town can be proud of. My hope is that this will grow into an annual highlight and a visible part of Mullingar’s cultural life,” she said.

Artists like Kiruu with locals Blasta Brass at the Stables, Dorota Konchevska with hounded Electronic Jazz project, Bluesman Ben Prevo and many more will be playing across venues in Mullingar such as Cúige Studios, Grace Food and Culture restaurant, Mullingar Arts Centre, and Old News coffee shop, offering a space for both local talent and guest musicians to shine.

While the scale is smaller this year, the ambition is big: to plant the seeds of a festival that will continue to grow and bring people together for years to come.

Mullingar Blues and Jazz Festival invites everyone to go out, enjoy the music, and support a new cultural tradition in the town.
