Mullingar music trail in development
Mullingar’s musical heritage is set to be celebrated through a new digital music trail being developed by the Mullingar Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber president James Burke told members of Westmeath County Council’s Economic Development, Enterprise, Agriculture and Tourism SPC that a QR-based system is being designed to highlight the town’s links to artists past and present.
“We have a wonderful heritage and history of music in Mullingar, and we want to do something proper to celebrate and show that off,” he said.
Cllr Emily Wallace welcomed the initiative, saying it could play a role in increasing visitor numbers and local spending.
