'Signalling Issues' disrupt Mullingar and Sligo rail service
Busy commuter trains were delayed this morning between Mullingar and Sligo, causing disruption to services along the route.
The 9:05 train from Dublin Connolly to Sligo was cancelled outright.
According to Irish Rail, the disruption was cause by ongoing signalling issues. On their X account, they said: “Due to ongoing signalling issues. Services are now suspended between Mullingar/Sligo.
“The 06:40 Sligo/Connolly service is stopped at Ballymote. The 09:05 Connolly/Sligo service is expected to be 35 minutes behind schedule. Staff are working to rectify the issue. Update to follow.”
Services have now resumed, and further updates are expected throughout the day.
