'Come From Away' is coming to Mullingar for four nights only
Mullingar Musical Society present the award-winning global phenomenon 'Come From Away', a true story that proves that kindness can shine even in the darkest of times.
Set in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, Come From Away transports audiences to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, where 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 stranded passengers were forced to land unexpectedly.
Overnight, the tight-knit community doubled in size, and opened hearts, homes, and schools to the “come from aways” who had nowhere else to go.
Through powerful storytelling, stirring music, and moments of laughter and heartbreak, Come From Away celebrates the extraordinary generosity of ordinary people, from weary travellers to local heroes, whose intertwined stories remind us that compassion and connection can bridge any distance.
With a vibrant Celtic-inspired score and an ensemble cast bringing dozens of characters to life, Come From Away is a moving, uplifting celebration of humanity, resilience, and hope, the kind of show that will leave you smiling through your tears.
Cast members include Maedhbh Hughes, Jemma Purcell, Colette Dunning, Meabh Ryan, Clare Egan, Ursula Dunne, Daniel Egerton, Josh Griffin, Conor Walsh, James Elliffe, Greg Dunne and Sam Gilmartin.
Come From Away runs from October 29 to November 1 at Mullingar Arts Centre.
